Who We Are

~And How We Got Here~

Aaron & Sarah Fall have long thought of owning a small business where their whole family could all work together. They are so thankful for this chance to do it. As the 5th & 6th generations on a small family farm in Reno County, they have been long-time customers of this particular feed business for years. However, in April 2026, they became the owners of Custom Mills Feed Company.

Born and raised in Decatur County, KS, Aaron graduated from Fort Hays State University with a degree in Agriculture. There in the college dairy barn, he met Sarah, who was raised on a small farm in Olpe, KS. They married and eventually moved to Pretty Prairie in 2007 to live on the farm of Aaron’s grandparents, Claire and Mary Graber. It was a move Aaron had dreamed of since he was a boy helping with wheat harvest. They’ve spent these last 18 years here raising their seven children and different critters of all shapes and sizes. Cattle, sheep, pigs, peacocks—they’ve fed ‘em all. (Not to mention keeping all those kids fed and watered.)

After college, Aaron worked in a feed yard in Kearney, NE as a bunk reader, before spending some time as a truck driver for a meat packing company. He spent almost 20 years working for the USDA Farm Service Agency, followed by a brief time as a banker. He started working for Ehling Custom Mills in December of 2022, when long-time manager, Mike Smith, retired months later. Aaron had always been intriqued with animal nutrition and appreciated the change of pace from office work. And he was really glad he had maintained his CDL from all those years earlier!

But the REAL FUN started in later in 2023, when son, Asa began working part-time at the mill. The Falls had always been a family that worked together at home, and now it was happening in the workplace.

The oldest son, Asher joined the team in 2024, after finishing the Ag Diesel Mechanic program at Hutchinson Community College and earning his CDL certification. Arlen and Josiah began helping out part-time in 2025.

It was truly a family affair! Sarah now helps out in the office, and with the three youngest, Annelysse, Jebediah, and Hadassah pitching in where needed, it is finally the family business they’d always had their hearts set on.
